Kimberly Caldwell rose to fame as a contestant on the television singing competition "American Idol." Since then, she's appeared on television, in movies and as a presenter on television. Her hairstyle has a choppy and textured look that is easy to imitate.

Cut the hair directly to the jaw line or slightly down towards the chin for a longer look. Early on in her career, Caldwell had shorter hair, but later allowed it to grow chin length.
2Trim the bangs and edges of the hair with a straight razor to give it a chunky and textured look. Caldwell's hair often looks asymmetrical due to the cut.
3Mix together equal parts moisturizer and straightening balm in the palm of your hands. Run this mixture through the hair from the crown to the tips. A good product to try is Maxtrix straightening balm with Aveda moisturizer.
4Place curlers around the sides and back of the hair and apply a quick burst of hot air with a blow dryer. Alternatively, you can wrap portions of hair around a round brush and hit it with the blow dryer.
5Apply hair wax to the back and bottom sides of the hair. Sculpt the edges of the hair up with your fingers to get a choppy look. Caldwell has been known to use Bed Head wax.
6Tease the roots of the hair with your fingers or a comb. This adds volume and makes the hair look thicker and more lustrous.
7Add a dab of smoothing serum to your hands and run them through your hair. Finish off with a small spritz of hair spray. Matrix also makes an excellent soothing serum.
