Medium Hairstyles for Young Men

Men's hairstyles are no longer set in boring, predictable categories, with little choice for any real style or variance. Men today like to be as stylish and noticeable as their female counterparts, and hairstyles have evolved to reflect this. Medium-length hair is the current hot trend, with several styles to fit any type of look.

Long bangs combed in a sweeping move to the side are the biggest trend in young men's medium hairstyles. Seen on many celebrities, they have several variations that allow them to be altered to the man wearing it. Long sides and back with the bangs swept over is popular, as is the shorter back and longer sides and front. In general, the bangs are swept from left to right in a curving motion and are somewhat fringed to avoid looking angular.

Fringed ends and messy layers are the key to not looking like you spent much time on your hair. Men want to be stylish but not look as though they obsess over it, and this look fits the roll-out-of-bed-and-go trend. A cut that can be washed and tousled with a little gel so that the layers do not look neat and in place is one method. Fringed ends that have movement and multiple angles is another. These looks are easy to care for and look carefree for any medium-length hair.

The 70s revival has brought back two cuts that have been altered to reflect current times. The bowl cut has been given new life by changing the angle of the cut slightly so that instead of ends being even, they are slightly varied. The allover length is still the same, reflecting the moppish look that is the trademark of this cut. Worn messy in the current style, this cut is a great medium-length choice. Another revival is a variation of the mullet. Once the source of jokes, its cult-popularity status has made this a bold medium- length choice. Gone is the wide difference between front and back length, however, with the new mullet being less of an extreme cut. The back is still longer than the sides, but often in the new version, bangs are an added variation and again, messy is the way to wear this revived medium-length men's style.
