How to Spike Your Hair Like Scene People

Scene haircuts and styles can be popular among young people. The style is long and straight on the bottom and bouffant in the crown area. The scene cut itself is a heavily textured cut that results in a jagged, heavily texurized appearance. The bangs are long, swooped to the side and jagged. Chunky highlights, color slices and other color applications add even more interest to this look. The style is achieved through the use of styling tools (flat irons and crimping irons) and a serious amount of product.

Instructions

Begin with hair that has been completely straightened with a flat iron. Create a horizontal part in the middle top of the head, running from ear to ear. Comb the hair in front of the part forward; comb the hair behind the part back. Locate the occipital bone, the large protruding bone in the back of the head, and create a horizontal part along the ridge of the bone. Connect the two horizontal parts with two vertical partings placed directly behind each ear. Clip the section up and out of the way.

Scoop out a pea-sized amount of wax, place it in the palm of your hand and rub your hands together until the product is evenly distributed on both hands. Run your fingers through the unpinned sections of hair to smooth and style. Pinch the ends of the hair together to add more texture.

Remove the clips from the hair. Envision three equal horizontal sections in this area. Lift up the first envisioned section, and comb the section straight out from the head. Place the teeth of the comb into the underside of the section approximately 2 inches above the scalp. Push the comb down toward the scalp to add a cushion of tease. Continue pushing the hair toward the scalp until there is a large cushion of hair. Add tease to all three sections.

Look at the front of the teased section, and lightly comb the tease out of the top layer of hair so that the tease will not be visible once styled.

Pick up another pea-sized amount of wax, and distribute the product on the palms of your hand. Palm the product on the crown section of the hair. Use your fingers to place the individual, longer sections of hair in place. Inspect the entire style, and locate any areas that need adjustments. Make adjustments using your fingers.

Spray heavily with firm-hold hairspray to finish.
