How to Set Hair in Hot Rollers

For loose, beautiful curls, hot rollers are the best styling products to use. In as little as 30 minutes, your straight hair will be transformed into a mane of gorgeous wavy locks. Just make sure to choose the appropriate type of hot rollers for your preferred look.
If you want tight ringlet curls, you will need small hot rollers about 1/2-inch in diameter. If you want looser waves, you will need large hot rollers about 1-inch or more in diameter.

Instructions

Section hair into three separate parts: top (all the hair above the ears), middle (all the hair around the ears) and bottom (all the hair below the ears). Secure with clips or bobby pins. Place the rollers to be heated while you prepare your hair.

Take a 1-inch wide strand of hair and spritz it lightly with hair spray. Take a hot roller and begin rolling hair up from the bottom all the way up to the roots, as close to the scalp as possible. Secure it with bobby pins.

Continue the process in step 2 until all of your hair has been set in hot rollers. Allow the rollers to set in your hair for at least 30 minutes, or until they have cooled off.

Spritz your entire head lightly with hair spray, then hold a blow dryer over your head for about 5 to 10 minutes. This will ensure that the curls stay intact longer.

Remove the rollers gently. Toss your head and use your fingers to unfurl the curls.
