Long Mullet Hairstyles for Men

The mullet may be one of the most maligned and misunderstood hairstyles of all time for men. Many crack jokes about this style, which is sometimes called hockey hair because of the preponderance of skaters who have sported the style over the years. However, there is no real reason that people can't have a little fun with their hair if they want to.

The classic mullet style is where the birth of the "business up front, party in the rear" phrase comes from. This basically is a short, cropped stylish look in the front and the traditionally long "mullet" heading down the back. Former NHL coach and ESPN commentator Barry Melrose may be the most famous profiler of the classic mullet because of his slicked hair up front and his curly long locks in the back.

The "Jagr Mullet" is named after former NHL star Jaromir Jagr. The front of this mullet is very curly and poofy, while the back end is long and very bushy in the back. Jagr's mullet was very famous for sticking out the back of his helmet.

The Seven is a form of mullet where the sides are shaved very close to the head on top, but the back is allowed to grow very long. The hair on top of the head is normally slightly longer than the sides. The name comes because a person's hair will look like an inverted "7" to other people.

Named after country singer Billy Ray Cyrus' early 1990s hairdo, this mullet is a combination of the Jagr and the classic mullet. It generally will be longer than the classic but less bushy than the Jagr. It likely will have a lot of styling gel in the upper portions to possibly give a spiky look.
