How to Twist Short Hair

Twisting short hair into an updo is not difficult and will look very sleek and stylish when you are finished. For an everyday yet polished look, bobby pins are easiest to work with. For more special or formal occasions, decorative combs or pins can be used to hold the hairstyle in place.

Instructions

Spritz hair liberally with water and brush thoroughly with hairbrush.

Squeeze a quarter-sized dollop of hair gel into your hands and work completely through hair.

Using the comb, part your hair how you would like to wear it, from the hairline to the center of your crown.

Gather all of your hair at the nape of your neck in your right hand, and twist counter-clockwise.

Lift the twisted hair so that it is flush against the back of your head. With your left hand, secure the twist with bobby pins along the length of the twist.
