Fine hair can leave your style looking flat. Without bogging your hair down with a ton of hair products, you can add volume to your fine hair with a dry shampoo. Oil can also leave hair falling flat. Dry shampoo will soak up excess oil in the hair and leave it voluminous.

Holding two-inch sections of hair at a time, spray dry shampoo toward the root of the hair in each section. Repeat all over your entire head. Spraying the dry shampoo in small sections will make sure that you reach every strand of hair.
2Allow the dry shampoo to penetrate hair for about two to three minutes, or as directed on the packaging.
3Brush the hair where the dry shampoo was sprayed with a soft bristled brush. Brushing your hair upside down will add additional volume.
4Standing upright again, use a teasing comb to gently backcomb hair if needed. Backcombing is combing hair strands in the opposite direction to the hair's natural growth pattern. You can backcomb hair by lifting thin sections of hair straight up, inserting a comb halfway down the hair strands and combing straight down. Repeat on all sections of hair you want backcombed.
