Classic hairstyles are those that are not trendy, and that work for just about any age. Short hair is fun and versatile, and there are several short, classic hairstyles to choose from. When you are selecting a hairstyle, especially a short one, take into account the texture of your hair. If you have curly hair and cut it short, it may become unmanageable and puffy.
Pixie
A pixie haircut refers to one that is quite short, and could be considered boyish. But, there are touches to make it uniquely feminine. There are a few variations of the pixie hairstyle. You can either choose to have it very short all over, approximately 2 to 3 inches long, or leave it longer on top and have bangs. Either way, this look is classic, short and sassy.
Bob
A bob is the epitome of a classic hairstyle. It has been a popular hairstyle for decades. Variations of the bob become popular at different times. Some of these include asymmetrical bobs and graduated, stacked bobs. The classic bob hairstyle is generally straight across or angled slightly toward the face. The length should be right around chin length, maybe an inch or so longer. In a classic bob, the hair is straight and sleek. You can either have standard bangs that hang down straight, or sideswept bangs.
Professional
One short, classic hairstyle that is professional is a version of the pixie cut. In this hairstyle, the back of the hair is cut short, but not as short as in a pixie cut. It should be 3 inches long or so. The top and sides of the hair are left longer, and heavily layered. The bottom layer should stop right about at the top of your ear. Sideswept bangs complete this look.
