How to Style a Bob Hair Cut

The bob hairstyle has been around for decades, yet it continues to be a classic style that works well on just about anyone. The bob hairstyle is generally anywhere between chin and shoulder-length and can be the same length all around or it may have layers. Your hairstylist will be able to recommend what length will look best on you. After washing and conditioning, it won't take long to style your bob. All you'll need is a styling product, a hair dryer and a flat iron!

Instructions

Wash hair using a shampoo that is appropriate for your hair type to achieve the best result. There are several varieties available, including shampoos for fine hair, curly hair, color-treated hair and dry hair.

Rinse thoroughly.

Condition your hair.

Rinse thoroughly.

Dry slightly using a towel.

Comb your hair, preferably using a wide-toothed comb.

Apply a small amount of either styling mousse or styling gel. Salonweb.com recommends starting at your roots and combing through to the end to get an even distribution. A little bit can go a long way here, so be sure not to use too much product.

Dry your hair thoroughly using a hair dryer. Be sure your hair is completely dry before styling with a flat iron in order to protect your hair from being damaged.

Plug in and turn on your flat iron. Allow it to heat up; depending on your flat iron, this will probably only take a minute or two.

Iron your hair in 2-inch sections by squeezing the iron around each section; slightly turn the iron under towards the end of your hair.

Repeat until all of your hair has been slightly curled under.

Finish by lightly spraying your hair with hairspray.
