Instructions for Velcro Rollers

Velcro rollers are hair curlers that have a strip of Velcro on the outside of the roller to hold the hair without using pins or clamps. They are great at boosting volume in fine hair and setting quick curls. Velcro rollers come different in sizes, from small to large, and are easy on the hair. Use Velcro rollers to create volume and soft curls or waves without the damaging effects of a curling iron. These rollers can be used for a quick dry set when you are in a hurry. A set of Velcro rollers can be purchased form most retailers for $10 to $15 a set.

Instructions

Part hair into sections with a comb. You can use the rollers on wet or dry hair for a quick set. Divide into middle, side and back sections.

Select the right size roller. Short pieces of hair will need small size rollers as the hair needs to wrap around the curler twice for a secure hold.

Wrap the ends of the hair under the roller and begin rolling towards the root. Get the curler as close to the scalp as possible to get a good grip. Be careful not to tangle small hairs in the Velcro.

Set the style. If using the curlers on dry hair, spritz a few pumps of hair spray or hair setting lotion directly on the curled sections and allow to air dry or use a blow dryer on a low setting. The hair setting lotion can be combed into the hair for a wet set. Allow the hair to dry naturally.

Remove the rollers and fluff the curls with your fingers. To add volume at the roots, tease the root section lightly or bend over and run your fingers through the curls upside down to fluff.
