How to Style a Boy's Curly Hair With Gel

Boys of all ages can sport attractive hairstyles in a variety of different looks. Styling hair is not only for girls, and boys might enjoy trying new styles just like their female counterparts. Style a boy's curly hair with gel to give the curls definition and staying power. After adding the gel, you can arrange the curls into a neat or messy look for the desired effect.

Instructions

Wash the hair with the shampoo and rinse well. Add the conditioner after the shampoo and work the conditioner through the hair thoroughly. Allow the conditioner to sit on the hair for two to three minutes and then rinse it out with clear, warm water.

Dry the hair with a towel to remove as much excess moisture as possible. Rub the towel gently over the hair until the hair merely feels damp.

Place a quarter-size dollop of hair gel into the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together carefully to distribute the gel over your hands and then rub your hands over the hair to apply the gel to the hair. Continue applying the gel to the hair until no more gel remains on your hands. Run your fingers through the hair to distribute the gel evenly through from roots to ends.

Look in the mirror and arrange the hair in a style that you like. The gel will enable you to place the curls into specific positions around the head without them moving. Experiment with different arrangements with the hair while it remains damp until the curls look the way you want them to look.

Allow the hair to dry with the gel on it. The gel will hold the style so it doesn't move while the hair dries. After the hair dries, you may want to comb through the curls lightly with a wide-tooth comb. You can also finger-comb the hair after it dries, or leave it alone without doing anything to it.
