If you love wearing your hair short, then you should be aware of the fly hairstyles you can wear. It's important that you don't think that short styles aren't versatile. You have many options when it comes to short hair, including fly hairstyles that will turn heads. Whether you have relaxed or natural hair, there are numerous short and chic hairstyle options.

Before you go short, make sure you're up for the maintenance. While daily styling should be a breeze and may only take minutes, to maintain the sharpest, neatest look, visiting your barber or stylist on a regular basis is a must.

If your hair is relaxed, routine touch-up appointments to keep your hair straight will ensure a neat look at all times. Depending on the length of your hair, you may need a touch-up on the shortest areas every few weeks, while longer lengths can extend this time frame up to eight weeks.

You should also get hair removed from the neck area if you want to keep it neat.

Natural hair doesn't need chemical touch-ups, but you should still visit a stylist or barber for trims that will keep your style in shape.

For straightened hair, one fly look for women is the "Halle Berry" cut. Although Halle Berry didn't originate the style, she helped make it extremely popular. This style incorporates closely cropped sides and back with a longer crown. You can curl the longer lengths in any direction you choose.

Another popular style is a pixie cut. Slightly shorter than the Halle Berry style, this features allover short lengths. You can wear a short, piecey bang down on your forehead or style your bangs up and to one side. Pixie styles work well on women with oval faces and small frames.

Short bobs can range from ear to chin length. You can part them down the center or part them on one side (this works well for balancing rounder faces).

If you don't wear chemicals in your hair to straighten it, your hair will probably range from wavy to kinky.

One short style that works well on natural hair includes the afro in various lengths. A very short afro that's combed toward the front and lined straight is also known as a Caesar cut. However, you can wear an afro that's several inches long and pick it out for fluffiness.

Afros can be combined with braids or cornrows for a multi-dimensional style. Just fashion cornrows to the crown of your head and leave the rest of your hair out. You can braid the front section of your hair into braided bangs and leave the rest of your hair free.

Other short natural styles include comb coils, two-strand twists and flat twists.
