Long and Curly Hairstyles for an Oblong Face

If you have an oblong face, some hair styles tend to make your face look even longer. You should stay away from super short or super long hairstyles, especially if they are straight and all one length. If you have an oblong face, you may need to incorporate waves and body into your hairstyle to help your face appear fuller.

Aim to add body and volume to your hair by getting a basic, wavy hairstyle, with some layers cut in to help with the needed volume and width. Consider adding some bangs, which will also shorten the length of your face.

Add fringe to your hairstyle. Longer side fringes are especially beneficial as they frame your face, and take the focus off your long face and put it on your gorgeous eyes.

Think about a V-shaped cut, where your hair is longer in the back than it is at the sides and the front. This helps because an all straight, long cut just elongates your facial shape.

You may want to trim and clean up your ends and freshen up your layers before styling your hair if you want a curly hair style like Taylor Swift showed off at the 2007 American Music Awards. You will need to apply both mousse and moisturizers to your hair before parting it to the right. Blow your hair dry, and use a large paddle brush to style it as you dry it. Put hot rollers in your hair and let them sit. Unroll them after around 20 minutes, and style your hair, using hair wax. Brush your hair out so it hangs gracefully over your shoulders, and apply finishing spray.
