How to Make Your Hair Grow Longer for Guys

For girls who are set on impressing a guy with their long locks, they can try a few ways to get their hair to grow longer, or even just look longer. Getting your hair to grow longer for the guy you are trying to impress takes patience, care and maintenance. To achieve length you must treat your hair well and continue to trim it, even though cutting it frequently may seem counterproductive to growing it longer.

Use special hair-cutting shears to trim your hair.

Trim your hair, or have someone trim it for you, with the shears, and cut off any split ends or unhealthy hair. The best way to grow your hair long effectively is to begin with it as healthy as possible. Be sure to get shears specifically designed for cutting hair, as regular scissors can ruin your hair.

Work your hair into a lather with quality shampoo.

Wash your hair really well to ensure that no oils and dirt are limiting your hair's natural growth. Use a high-quality shampoo that contains a moisturizer to keep your hair from becoming brittle. Work the shampoo into your hair with a lather, then rinse. Your hair type will determine how often you need to wash your hair.

Use conditioner to keep your hair smooth and soft.

Condition your hair thoroughly with a high-quality conditioner that will moisturize your hair and keep it from snapping. Coat your hair with the conditioner and leave it in for a few minutes, then rinse. It may be necessary to condition your hair twice with each shampooing.

Use a paddle brush to keep your style straight.

Brush your hair from the bottom up once your hair is towel-dried following your shampoo and conditioning. Work through tangles carefully, avoiding splitting the ends.

Use a flat iron on special occasions to create the illusion of longer hair.
