Sultry hairstyles are a favorite of most because not only are they extremely flattering, but are quite easy to achieve. The old Hollywood look of movie stars can be achieved with just a few tools and can either be worn as a sexy day look or have the volume turned up for a gorgeous evening look.
Day look
The secret to sultry hair is volume, so prepping hair before styling is key. This is important, so that hair doesn't fall flat after a couple hours. Begin by washing and towel drying hair. Apply mousse all the way through the length of your hair. Blow-dry hair and turn head upside down when blow-drying for maximum volume. While hair is still warm, take small sections of hair and twist into tiny buns. Secure the rolled hair with small clips or bobby pins. Allow hair to rest and set for at least 20 minutes. Release clips and or bobby pins and work waves out with fingertips. Take a small amount of mousse, rub hands together and scrunch into waves. Finish with a light mist of finishing spray.
Seductive Evening Look
For this look, you can choose to wear hair completely down or pull up the top portion with long bangs or tendrils hanging down the front for a sex kitten effect. Again, apply mousse to towel dried hair and blow-dry. Take 2-inch sections of hair and use hot rollers to roll away from your face. Allow the rollers to cool completely. Remove rollers and spray with spray gel. Work out curls with fingertips and use pomade to tame waves into the desired look. Tease the crown of the head if you're going to wear your hair down. To create a loose up-do, pull the top portion of your hair up as if creating a half pony tail and secure with an elastic band. Use a small piece of hair to wrap around and cover the band and hide ends with a small bobby pin. If you have bangs, use a round brush and pull them straight down, so they fall into your lashes. If you do not have bangs, pull a few small sections of hair from the front and allow them to hang down the sides of your face. You can use a curling iron to re-curl for a more polished look or as is for a natural, sexy look. Finish with hairspray for a lasting effect.
