How to Style a Mohawk Haircut

The Mohawk is a hairstyle that has transcended decades across various genres of fashion. While the proper haircut is essential, the styling and spiking are the main ingredients for bringing the ultimate 'hawk to life. Here is how to style a Mohawk haircut.

Instructions

Wash or wet the hair that will be styled into a Mohawk. Towel dry the hair, to get rid of excess water.

Use the comb to part and section out the hair designated for styling. Comb the hair thoroughly to remove any tangles.

Apply the sculpting wax or pomade to the hair, if you are choosing to use these products.

Gather a large section of the hair, combing upward. Make sure to keep a good hold of it with the other hand, so it will stay up.

Spray the section of hair liberally with the extra hold hairspray, taking care to get all sides.

Blow dry the section of hair while continuing to hold it up with the other hand.

Make sure that the hair iron is heated at its highest level.

Clamp the section of hair with the flat iron and move it upward from scalp to tip. There should be a fair amount of sizzling as the hot iron comes into contact with the styling products.

Continue spraying and ironing until the section of hair stands on its own.

Repeat these steps for the rest of the hair sections until you have a complete, charged Mohawk.
