How to Style Medium Hair for Men

Medium hair is a length sported by many men because of its easy styling. Medium-length hair can often be styled using only your fingers and hair gel, but it can also be perfectly positioned using other hair products. Hair of medium length on a man is longer than a crew cut, and it usually comes down to at least the top of the ear. Hair longer than the entire ear is considered long in length.

Instructions

Wash your hair with a nutrient-rich, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. This will put the nutrients back into your hair that are stripped by blow drying, styling products and outdoor elements like the sun and wind. It will also strengthen your hair and give it a healthy shine.

Straighten your hair if it is naturally curly or textured. Medium hair styles are usually done with straight hair because curly hair tends to be too voluminous to style properly.

Squeeze a palmful of hair mousse into one hand and rub it with your other hand so that both hands have an even amount. Rub the mousse evenly into your hair while it is still wet. Blow dry your hair with the hair dryer without combing it down during the drying process. Leave your hair as-is after the drying process for the "bedhead" look. Place a small amount of gel in your bangs to keep them in position, since these are a crucial part of the medium-hair length style.

Comb your bangs to one side of your forehead to achieve a swept look. Apply a small amount of gel to the teeth of a fine-toothed comb,and brush through your bangs in one movement to the left or right of the forehead.

Blow dry your hair until it is halfway dry. Place a small amount of gel in your hands and rub them together as you did for the mousse in step 3. Run the gel evenly through your hair with rough back-and-forth motions. Leave the gel without drying to achieve a more wet, grunge look, or blow dry until completely dry to allow hair to stand on end.
