So, you have that all classic cut we call a bob, how do you style it?
Here is one way you could try on yourself or your clients. It's quick and easy, just what your clients want!
Instructions
- 1
After the shampoo and condition service, apply a dime sized amount of Biosilk in the hair and comb completely thru with a wide toothed comb. Then apply setting lotion or setting foam to clients hair and comb thru with a wide toothed comb. Make sure you evenly distribute the product thru the hair entirely.
2No matter the shape of this bob, as we all know, bobs come in different variations. As long as it's chin length or shorter comb the nape area straight down. Comb the rest of the hair straight back and make sure to drag it behind the ears. You want to smoothly mold all of the hair going straight back. Make sure there are not tangles or buckles in the hair, the smoother, the better. Once you have the hair into place, take a paper neckstrip, stretch it, then wrap it around your clients head to hold the hair into place while drying. Place client under a warm dryer. After about 20 minutes, remove the paper strip from the clients head and discard.
3Once the hair is dry spray a light coat of oil sheen to the still molded hair. Then use your fingers to gently break up the mold. Then use a wide toothed comb to comb the mold out. Use a tail comb to part the hair where the client desires her part to be. Then comb the sides of the hair straight down in natural fall.
The molding of the hair straight back will cause the sides to bend or bevel under naturally without wrapping the whole head or using irons. This works best on relaxed hair or naturally straight hair. I use this method on all cultures. It's quick and easy, your client will be in and out without a lot of fuss. It's a very healthy form of hair styling.
