Transitioning hairstyles can be pretty frustrating because you're literally between looks. However, with a little guidance and some vision, transitioning can be fun - whether trying to grow out your bangs or even a short cut. Follow along for some basic transition styles.

Instructions

Transition from Short Cuts

    1

Pour a dime sized drop of gel into your palm. Select a moisturizing formula with a light hold for control and flexibility.

    2

Rub the gel between both hands to warm product. Warming it slightly in your palm will allow the product to spread easily.

    3

Distribute the product lightly and evenly through hair. Focus on your roots and ends.

    4

Comb to slick back, tease at the scalp, or scrunch for lift - which ever one complements your face shape.

    5

Finish with a headband or barrette.

Transition from Bangs

    6

Depending on thickness and length, rub a pea to dime sized amount of pomade between your palms to warm product. Your pomade should be either wax or silicone based for shine and hold.

    7

Gently work the pomade through your bangs. Pay close attention to cover the ends, as this will help prevent fly-aways.

    8

Next, make an off center or deep side part with your comb.

    9

Carefully brush your bangs to the side and tuck the rest behind your ear.

    10

If needed, finish with a few bobby pins to hold.
