While using curling irons is an easy way to achieve curly hair, the heat will also damage hair and dry it out. Curlers can be applied to hair to make ringlets but can be uncomfortable to sleep on while velcro rollers sometimes rip hair. Achieving curly hair is possible without the use of heat and is quite easy to do. Hair that is slightly damp works best when creating curls minus the heat and leave-in conditioner is often applied to keep hair smooth and soft.
Instructions
- 1
Apply a quarter-size amount of creamy leave-in conditioner to damp hair. Use more or less conditioner depending on length of your hair. Flip head over and scrunch hair while taking care to run some conditioner through the ends. Apply extra conditioner if your hair is super dry.
2Flip head over again, and apply five or six spritzes of hairspray all over the back of your hair to help hold curls. Flip head back over and brush hair softly. Make a part where desired.
3Gather hair at each sides of your head focusing on the top section of hair. Twirl hair into a bun on the back of head, and secure with a coated rubber band. Repeat with the bottom section of hair. You should now have two buns on the back of your head.
4Sleep on these buns overnight, or take out the buns at nighttime if done in the early morning. Remove the hair ties, run your fingers through your hair and apply a curling product if desired. Hair will be tightly curled initially and fall more as the day goes on, depending on the coarseness of your hair.
