How to Pull a Front-Back With Medium Hair

A front-back hairstyle is a basic hairstyle that works well with medium length hair. It only takes a few minutes and the result is a hairdo that can be loose and casual for everyday or easily adapted to an elegant look for a prom or special date. A front-back style works for longer hair as well.

Instructions

Shampoo the hair with a good moisturizing shampoo and condition it well.

Brush the hair thoroughly and then comb it to make sure that even tiny snarls and knots have been removed.

Slick on a bit of hair gel, concentrating it especially on the top of the head. This will keep wisps and frizzes under control and will help the front-back hairdo to stay in place longer.

Use the comb to divide a section of hair on the crown of the head. The section can be as wide or as narrow as you desire.

Brush the section of hair straight back and gather it in your hand. Pull it back tightly and smoothly for a more formal look or looser for a more natural, casual appearance.

Secure the hair with an appropriately-sized decorative barrette or clip.

Mist a fine coat of hairspray to keep the hair looking neat and tidy.
