How to Scrunch Hair With a Diffuser

If your hair has waves or curls, you can increase the volume and texture by scrunching. Scrunching involves closing your fingers tightly over the strands of your hair, in a crumpling motion, to enhance its appearance. The success you experience with hair scrunching will depend partly on the type and texture of hair you possess as well as the styling products you use.

Instructions

Comb damp, clean hair with a wide-toothed comb to detangle.

Place the recommended amount of a curl enchancing product in the palm of one hand. Pat your hands together gently to distribute it on both palms. Pat the curl enhancer all over your hair, and work it through with your fingers.

Attach a diffuser to the end of your hairdryer, and set the dryer on a low, high-heat setting.

Hold the end of the diffuser approximately 1/4 inch from your hair. Tilt your head and lift the hair slightly away from the scalp with your fingers while scrunching, as if you were crumpling a sheet of paper. Apply heat as you scrunch. Repeat all over your head.

Allow your hair to cool for approximately 15 minutes. Apply the recommended amount of a finishing oil to define the scrunched curls.
