Long Straight Hairstyles for Men

Longer hairstyles for men are beginning to trend quickly in the fashion arena. With longer hair often comes more responsibility for upkeep for women, but that isn't necessarily the case for men. Longer hair for men can be styled in a few minutes and look great on just about any facial shape. The best facial shape for longer hair, however, is a narrow face. A rounder face with longer hair may actually present the illusion that the face is wider than it is.

The emo look isn't as scary, or depressing, as it sounds. It incorporates longer hair that can be tamed by being slicked down with products such as molding wax. For the most part, the cut is all one length, similar to a bob. The difference from the bob is that while the hairstyle is straight, it may incorporate longer front pieces than back pieces. This is very much dependent on how you want it to look, as emo hairstyles are supposed to express your emotions. This is great for a narrow face because the length of the hair covers some of the forehead, creating the illusion that the face is shorter, therefore making it appear fuller.

A surfer look is a great look for teen males with narrow faces. The style is usually on the long side, and the natural texture of the hair is allowed to play out. Usually a small wave established after growing the hair out, but for the most part the hair is straight. The fullness of this cut along with the length takes away the focus on a narrow face and creates a fullness effect around the cheekbones and jawline.

The shag cut became popular in the '70s and seems to be here to stay. It is a layered long hairstyle for men that may or may not incorporate bangs. This cut can be styled to be up to present-day par by adding some molding wax or glue to the hair and individualizing the layers, then patting them down. This shows the choppiness of the cut, but it doesn't give enough body to the hairstyle that it seems unruly.
