How to Style Curly Hair that is Medium Length

Whether your have tight ringlets or curls that are full and loose, styling your curly locks can be quite challenging. For individuals with medium or long-length curls, this process can be even more difficult. Luckily, hair stylists and cosmetics companies have kept you in mind and have worked to develop products to simplify the styling process.

Instructions

Shampoo your hair as you normally would in the shower with shampoo created for curly hair. If your curly hair is especially thick, you will need to shampoo the hair twice to remove any impurities and eliminate tangles.

Apply a palm full of conditioner created for curly hair. Work the conditioner into the hair from roots to ends.

Part your hair into two sections. Comb through each section with a wide tooth comb to evenly distribute the conditioner. Comb each section from ends to roots removing any tangles along the way.

Rinse the conditioner from the hair under warm, not hot, water. Tilt your head under the water so that the hair falls away from the scalp. Run your fingers through your curls from roots to ends while rinsing.

Towel dry the hair to remove the bulk of the moisture. Flip your head over so that your hair is dangling off of your head towards the ground. Use the towel to pile the hair onto of your head from ends to roots, also known as scrunching the hair.

Apply a generous amount of hair gel for curly hair to your hair. Flip your head over and gently scrunch the hair from ends to roots to apply the gel. Apply the gel evenly for a uniform look.

Blow dry your hair with the diffuser attached. Tilt your head forward, back, and to each side to lift the hair gently off of the scalp. Continue to scrunch the hair as you blow dry. Blow dry the hair until your hair is completely dry.

Pin back sections of hair as desired with bobby pins.
