How to Properly Partition Hair for Rollers

When you wet set your hair in rollers, you want your hair to be properly partitioned for a beautiful curl. If your hair is haphazardly partitioned, your curls will also be haphazard and not look professional. When you are finished reading this article, you will know how to properly partition your hair so it looks like a professional did it.

Instructions

Begin by washing your hair and wrapping the hair in a dry towel. Do not towel dry your hair. Leave it dripping. Gather the marterials needed and sit down at a mirror or stand in front of your bathroom mirror.

Comb your hair out as you would normally do. Once you have it combed out, begin above one eye and make a part from the hairline all the way to the crown of the head. Comb the hair on the side of the head down. You may want to use clips to keep the hair out of the way. Move to the other eye and make a part from the hairline all the way to the crown. This is where you will begin your rolling.

Spray the setting lotion onto the hair as you separate each section for a roller. Roll your hair in sections about 1/2 inch thick. This will assure you have have a nice curl. When that section is finished, move to the side. From the top of the ear, where the ear meets the scalp, make a part from here to the line of rollers you have already rolled. Repeat this on the other side.

Continue rolling hair on the sides until all hair is rolled. Move to the back. You want to partition this off into 3 even sections. After partitioning the hair, roll one section in each partition at a time, then move down to the next section. This will assure you have proper spacing in your curls. Continue rolling until all hair is rolled. Allow hair to dry or use a hair dryer.

Remove the rollers after hair is dry and style as usual.
