Teen Celebrity Short Hairstyles

Caring for hair can be difficult, especially if you're a teenager with studies and social activities taking up most of your time. Short hair is easy to manage and can be styled quickly. Short styles, from the pixie cut to '80s revival styles, are being adopted by those at the forefront of fashion trends -- teen celebrities. The faces of MTV, teen dramas and pop music are emerging and changing every day. There is thus a constant resource for finding inspiration for new hairstyles, and short hair is making a comeback.

Twiggy was the skinny kid with the face of an angel who became a '60s icon. As a teenager, Twiggy was one of the first models to have a short, sporty, androgynous cut. She revolutionized the way people wore their hair and transformed the entire era, making a fashion imprint. Many teenagers are adopting Twiggy's style to give their look an edge. However, if cutting all your hair off is a bit too drastic a change, you can still style it like Twiggy. Part your hair at the side, making sure to smooth it down with water as you go. Pull the hair back and clip it up or put it in a bun.

The pixie cut is a fine, close crop that flatters girls with soft facial features. Emma Watson, or "Hermione Granger" as most teens know her, recently cut off all her hair, after completing the final Harry Potter film. On her Facebook page, Emma remarked, "I cut my hair off a few days ago...feels incredible. I love it. I've wanted to do this for years and years; it's the most liberating thing ever."

Keira Knightly also sported a pixie haircut in her early films, such as "Bend it Like Beckham" and "The Hole."

Teens like to feel confident, so consider haircut styles carefully when going for a bold new cut.

Making the decision on what short cut to go for can be daunting, especially for a teen who wants to confident with her appearance. However, there are general rules to take into account that can help you achieve the perfect style to suit your face shape.

Teens with oval-shaped face, like Frankie Sandford, are lucky because this shape is considered ideal. Oval faces have no restrictions on haircut choices. However, choosing soft bangs is recommended, as they highlight your facial features even more, adding a little drama.

Kelly Clarkson is a celebrity teen with a round face shape. Follow in her footsteps and opt for a layered hairstyle that adds height at the top of the head, increasing the length of the face and creating a more oval shape.

Teens with heart-shaped faces are advised to choose a hairstyle that can be backcombed or a style with side-swept bangs to balance the features and create harmonious angles. Rihanna came onto the scene with her signature short hairstyle that really made her stand out from the crowd.
